No. Even if I drop hints he still doesn't notice. I have to mention it then he'll give me a compliment on my hard work

      Shauna,

I know the feeling, I don't even bother mentioning it to him anymore and make sure when he does make a mess that he cleans after himself...I must say that I feel like I am his mom having to tell him but the fact that it would take me so long to clean, and besides having to clean after the baby's mess. I shouldn't have to clean after a grown man, and wish that he would understand or be supportive that way too.

My husband may compliment me on the house being clean, but in no way does he clean up after himself, only sometimes. And, I know darn well his mother didn't raise him that way. Lol

Socks and other dirty items thrown on the floor are the biggest problem (sometimes I will find 3-4 pairs of socks under the bed and one under the covers from last night--GRRR!) , and hair in the sink. I am a neat freak as well, so all of these things he does drives be bananas.

I tell my husband things that drive me crazy like when he eats he uses a napkin to death and then leave the crumpled mess on the counter. I hate it!! Leave the plate the cup even food just throw away that napkin!!!! I have all boys and I am determined to make sure I break this cycle so their wives thank me one day lol.

I hope you succeed because as you said it's a real pain to have to mention the same thing over and over again, and they (men) don't get it. I love it when he leaves an empty bottle of juice in the fridge. I had to ask him the other day what was the intention behind it lol all he said was that he wasn't sure if I wanted to keep the bottle when we do not ever recycle and the garbage can is right next to the fridge ahahaha...I gave him the dirty looks that mom used to give me and that did the trick and he picked it up and put it in the garbage.

Hahaha!! I get that, too, but it ends up in the sink. And I ask, "Why would I need this?"

My hubby and preteen daughter do not know what a trash can is, either--even though it is less than five feet from them, they leave the mess on the counters or stove. It drives me nuts!

Not very often he doesn't but he does sometimes. If I've spent extra time on it though I always point it out to him. He does tell me all the time though that he has no idea how I do everything I do in a day.

he often tells me that he does not care how the house looks as long as the baby is alive and happy, that we had a good time and i managed to brush my teeth and hair and get dinner ready. he did one stay at home day when i was really sick and slept like death the whole day and now he will come home throw off my "sorry i did not get to this" complaints and do dishes or anything else i did not have a chance to get to. the fact that our baby can count to three, knows many of her body parts, three colors and is almost potty trained at a lil over a year (15months) shows to him how much effort i put into our daughter daily. she never ceases to amaze him and has something to show him every day

as what i have observed, Edward appreciates cleanliness if he's the one who's cleaning the entire house. Luckily he really has the willingness to clean .

Noo haha.. -looks around- Not once. haha

But, he does help me clean up dishes and he even get's on his hands & knees to scub the tile floors! I don't even have to ask.. That's kind of amazing in itself! haha

And he will tell his son "pick up your shit and making a mess"! So, I think that, in a way, is like.. appreciating what I do and trying to have his son stop making more of a mess for me to clean. :)

Yes, even when I still think the house looks messy. My idea of clean is "spotless" and extremely organized.
