Disappointed in myself as a parent

Our Son will turn 2 years old on Friday and barely says any words :( We're doing all we know to do (other than getting him observed). Seriously have NO clue what we can do. I feel like I'm failing as a parent :( I plan to call Monday for an observation. HOPEFULLY they can help and Hopefully they won't charge to much.

I know how you feel, but you're not a failure. Some kids just don't want to speak yet. Nina barely says any words at two, either, but I'm not worried. We talk to her all the time and she understands almost everything we say or ask her to do. She knows a lot of things, and is ahead in everything else except speech. My brothers and I were all like that, too, according to my parents. Ben didnt speak til he was three, Nick until about the same time, and I started just before that. Nina's doctor suggested seeing a speech therapist if she's not talking more by November, but I might not do it. My brother Nick is 12 years younger than I am, and I remember when he went to speech therapy...it did not go well. We know she's not autistic or anything, just stubborn, and she has her own little way of speaking that we've learned to interpret in the mean time lol. I wouldn't worry too much.

I've always been told that babies and toddlers do everything in their own time, and that they'll do it when they're ready to.
