When is a good age to start the "time out" chair? and what is the best way to enforce it?
We started the time out chair with James (he's 2), a couple of months ago. David and I both agree that we will give James warnings before the chair. James will actually sit in the chair until we tell him times up. We both tell him why he has to sit there and when time is up, we both give him a hug and tell him we love him.
no earlier than 2 years old. Children can't understand the concept of time out clearly before age 2 I think.
My son is not yet two and does not grasp the concept of "time out." I believe it depends on the child's mentality. But, under two is too young to begin that.
