Pelvic and abdominal pressure

Ok, so I know it's normal to have pressure during pregnancy. I didn't have it with my girls and now that I'm having a boy, I get massive bouts of pressure in my abdominal and pelvis area. My midwife says it's totally normal especially with me going into my final trimester, he is head down, low in the pelvis area and moving a lot. Did any of you momma's have that kind of pressure where it takes your breathe away? And what did you do to relieve some of the pressure? I mean it doesn't last long, but man does it get uncomfortable at times.

Oh my yes. Especially with the more babies you have. Squats help a lot, make sure to keep your feet flat. An exercise ball was the bomb, absolutely loved it the last trimester! And hula-type dancing. Whenever I get a new pain when I'm pregnant I always go to spinningbabies.com. They have awesome exercises that help a ton that you can do now and in labor.

Ya it is! I wish I knew about it when I was pregnant with my 2nd. I carried so heavy and had so many hip and pelvic issues and my OB was not very helpful with any kind of "what you can do to help with that."

Most OBs and a lot of in hospital midwives don't know much about it. ;) I wish I had known about it when I had my son in 2010, he liked to sit on my spine it felt like.

My 3rd born would sit on nerves and I would completely go numb on the left side of my body because of it. As soon as she moved, I would get feeling back.

The one thing that has worked for me in the past is to try and rest a little (but of course that's almost impossible when you have other children!) I'm managing ok, but lately my Braxtons are getting a little harder and they come with some pretty heavy pressure in the pelvis.

Yes. They do that. My sister (6th baby) has had braxton hicks since she was about 15 weeks, she's around 35.

Yeah. She's glad she's had so many, she knows the difference and knows how to slow them down. :)

I have a friend who I'm pregnant with and she is also having her 6th child. She told me the same thing about having braxtons REALLY early.
