Christmas Ornament Crafts - Part 1

We made our first Christmas ornament crafts last night. This was done with the younger ones, minus the 3 year old (he went to bed). They are made with beads. They follow the pattern to make the candy cane and snowman. Then I ironed them with a bit of wax like paper between the beads and iron to melt and blend the beads together. We'll put thread on them to make them a hanging ornament. It took us about 45 minutes as there were a couple mishaps where they knocked their beads out of place and they had to start again. I think they turned out pretty cute and our older girls and youngest son will be pleased to have a homemade ornament from their younger/older sibling.

Our older girls had a big tub of these beads and loved doing this type of craft, so I thought the younger ones would enjoy it too. Easy to do and easy clean up!

These are the cutest! We outlawed these beads in out house years ago when my son kept shoving them up his nose! After two trips to the doctor and one trip to the ER for extraction ...no perler beads in our house...LOL! Just an FYI...because of the hold in the middle they are REALLY hard to get out of the nose...and if you shove them up too high you have to go to the ER! LOL!

Oh my goodness, Magen! We have not had that problem here thankfully and no I won't be mentioning it either to give any little people ideas! That reminds me of a story from when I was in Primary (Canadian version of Kindergarten) and for some reason I sniffed a piece of eraser and it went up my nose and I had to go to the doctor to get it out. I never lived that down. Even in high school all my classmates who were with me in Primary would bring it up!
