I only have girls and everyone says it's very different to potty train boys and girls. But for my first it just happend easily and with almost no effort. For my second the pull-ups potty training kit worked great.

Hi. I am now a stay at home mom, but taught toddlers for 5 years. I would first advise you to not push the issue. If he is resistent, I would try reading a special book or sing a silly song only when he is on the potty. Acknowledge his efforts even if nothing happens when he sits with a sticker or stamp. He might be ahy and want some privacy. Maybe set a timer for 3 minutes so he knows when to get off. Another option, give him his own little potty if he doesn't already have one. Lastly, reward him with a special treat when he is successful. The key is to show him that good things happen when he tries/ goes. Consistency is very important but patience is more important. Good luck ( :

We've used both genders of Once Upon a Potty books and Elmo's potty time video.

Have you tried giving him books while he sits on the potty?

Here's a list of potty books:

Otherwise sometimes treats can work or just waiting until they are ready.
