Major changes?

My youngest (7)has just got her glasses for the first time and the day after Christmas will be getting braces. Any ideas on how I can encourage her with these changes?

Wow, that is a lot all at once. Both my boys have worn glasses, my oldest is now in contacts. I never had a problem with them wanting to wear their glasses because well, things just look so much better. A friend of mine's little girl got a little insecure about the glasses and she solicited photos from friends, etc of kids looking "cool" in their glasses to show to her girl. Also just telling her how pretty she is with her glasses. The braces might work on the same theory?

Our daughter got glasses at 4 and we also had to patch her lazy eye. We have never had any issues with any of our children when they got glasses - and we have five in glasses. But my husband and I wear glasses so our kids thought it was cool to get glasses. Even our younger ones want glasses.

No advice on braces as none of our has had them.

Plus they could always see so much better once they had glasses that they enjoyed their new found "views".
