9-12 months gifts
I would buy building toys like wooden blocks or Lego for babies. It will help to develop fine motor skills. And because it's a almost a walker age, I would recommend to buy a push toy, like Price Grabber.
o, yes, board books are great!
I never left them alone with the books so they didn't have much chance to chew on the books and I'd take it out of their mouth if they tried. I usually read to them, and if they were not on the move yet, board books are easier to prop up in front of them while they are on their tummies, giving them something stimulating to look at. I remember some of our children building a book wall around some of our babies, it was so cute!
I third the book recommendation. Books are absolutely vital to a child. Board books are great to get and they make some that are a bit complex so they can be enjoyed up to 3 or 4 years of age. It's a gift they wont outgrow as fast as toys or clothes.
I love these tips.. and I LOVE books for babies!
my son's favorites were Thomas the train and Clifford
