Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

I worked as a nurse for 16 years, so when we celebrated Christmas depended on my work schedule. It seemed the kids were with their dad on the holidays I had off, and with me for the ones I had to work. So, sometimes we would celebrate on Christmas Eve, or the weekend before or after Christmas. Now that I don't have to work on holidays, we celebrate on Christmas Day.

We have a celebration on both days. We use to go to my brother-in-law's for Christmas Eve but we had all the small children and to be out late and then come home and prepare for hosting on Christmas day got to be too much. Now we make lefse (Norwegian potato bread) on Christmas Eve and have our turkey dinner on Christmas day. This year we have a friend coming over to bring us special Italian rolls and hot chocolate to go with our breakfast. She's such a ray of sunshine in our lives!
