Raising Grateful Children

After seeing the abundance of gifts my 9.5 month old daughter (who doesn't even care about the gifts) got this Christmas this article really struck a chord. She is so lucky and fortunate and I want her to always be grateful for all she has...how are you raising your kids to be grateful?

We usually require our children to write thank you notes, in hopes they will one day automatically do so. We have kept things simple on birthdays and at Christmas in hopes of raising grateful children. And like Sheila said, saying please and thank you are requirements in our home too. We have also tried to incorporate charitable giving in our family life, but that has certainly lacking this past year compared to other years.
