Why does it have to be a lie? The Santa thing...

I've been reading countless posts here and everywhere else about the LIE we tell our kids about Santa.. and if it's worth it and if we are damaging them and how awful we feel when they realize we are lying to them all this time...

I think ti's too much.. I think that everyone needs to relax.. we all made it through right? Our parents did... No kid is yelling as they are arrested from harming someone else "You lied to me about Santa"...

Santa has been around for a very long time.. in many cultures... I TOO don't want to hurt my kids by telling them the there's not such thing as Santa. so I'm not going to... Why does there have to be an END game at all? I'm not saying at 20, have your son still believe in flying reindeer.. if they can read, they will figure most of it out on their own..

My son is 9 this year and he's on to me.. and the whole fat guy flies a sleigh thing.. he asked me straight out.. is Santa real?

And I told him.. that Santa is as real as he wants him to be... that no matter if there is a real Santa or not... it doesn't matter.. it's a story, a fairy tale and no matter what, as long and whenever he is in MY home over christmas.. Santa will come to out home...

He asked if the parents did it.. I said that once the children in the home stop believing in their hearts then the parents take over...he liked that idea...

he's not stupid.. he knows.. but what is so wrong with keeping the silly spirit and fairy tale alive? There is so much ugly in the world.. and we worry so much about our kids handling things...

But truth is.. the Santa thing.. it's a right of passage, it's part of their story.. I was crushed when I was little.. but I survived and still loved Christmas and I still get excited...

Santa represents the spirit of Christmas... I think that there are way more things that can destroy our kids then us telling them a story ... Try not to look at it as a LIE and try to see it as something that is fun and mystical and magical that they get to have when they are little...

That's just what I think..
