Beyond pissed off.

After reading about a mom that was given the WRONG BABY to breastfeed after she gave birth, I couldn't be happier that Lucas never left the room we were in when he was born. He was in my sight at all times. People were commenting 'milk is milk' and 'let it go - no one died.' I can't believe these ignorant assholes! (pardon the language.) I mean really??? How would you feel if you carried your child for 40 weeks, went through the pain of giving birth and then the hospital not caring enough to pay attention and give you YOUR OWN child to feed?? You don't know what that other mother has done, what diseases she might have, and for her to breastfeed YOUR BABY is so beyond wrong! I never did it, but it's an emotional and one of THE MOST bonding experiences anyone can ever have. This has happened 3 times in the past year!?!? What the hell? Really???? This just pisses me off so much and I couldn't be happier that nurse got fired for this. How can anyone possibly make a mistake like that? — feeling furious and protective.

Wow, glad my daughter stayed in the room with me, our hospital was over caring, it was so nice there.

Yeah, I would not be pleased at all. Makes me all the more grateful my last three were homebirths.

April anderson Very well. My second home birth my midwife missed by five minutes due to being stopped for speeding, thankfully she didn't get a ticket but it was something right out of a movie script. I loved all my home births. The only thing I'd change is not allowing my midwife's assistant to assist. It has to be just me, my husband and midwife. The assistant tried to "assist" too much and I believe she hindered my progress with her internals. My eighth child should not have taken all day to arrive, especially when his brother arrived unassisted 2.5 years prior.

Wow that's ridiculous that they would be so irresponsible. I didn't breastfeed mine but that first feeding regardless is very important for bonding. I would have been furious!!
