Our children are very excited about one of our females cats giving birth to three kittens on Sunday. It's been a roller coaster ride to see how Princess (the mama cat) does. This is her second litter, the first were not healthy and did not survive, and she is mothering them but we've had to move them to the safety of the garage. In the barn, the chickens and even the other two cats kept going near the kittens making Princess nervous. So here's to hoping the garage provides a safe haven and the kittens thrive.

Yeah, there's lots of babies and moms right now here at our house. It makes life that much more interesting, that's for sure.

Well, our children are advocating for us to keep them all, of course! I just do not see why we need six cats! There's only three so we'll see. We did tell the children they could keep one from each litter when the mamas give birth (we have two female cats right now) We will probably get the babies spayed and neutered though, just so they are not mating their mothers! Gets a little tricky to keep track of breeding lines and not sure I am up to that kind of record keeping other than our "food" animals. Our cats are for rodent control, though our children treat them more like house pets, even though they live in the barn!

If we keep one, the other two will need new homes. I don't see how the children will be able to decide which one to keep. The black and white one is like the daddy cat, the grey one is like the mama cat and the black and orange one is unique and different.
