Any Cloth diaper moms?

I wanted to cloth diaper my second baby, but got overwhelmed with two toddlers and a newborn. He will be four and almost in kindergarten when the new one comes, and my oldest will be in all-day class. I wanna do it right this time, and also breastfeed a lot longer. We aren't planning to try until around June. I'm also going to be learning to sew and make my own diapers. Anybody with advice, supportive words, or just general interest is welcome to add me.

I don't mind scrubbing poopie diapers.. I was a CNA in a nursing home for like, 4 years. I know poop. And I 'd rather scrub my own baby's than a grown person's! The things I'm worried about are like, rashes, or finding the right ones for me to use. I like the insert fitted ones. But I also like the idea of sewing just a floppy diaper and throwing a cover over it and being done lol. I know I want to make them for sure. Buying a whole stash of them is not in the cards for me.

Oh no! And I attempted cloth with my 2nd baby, the first thing he always did, was poop as soon as he got one on! Thanks for that info!

I think the snap in liners will help with not having to change a whole diaper and have as much laundry, right?

I definitely want to buy a few for reference when making them... Like one of each type, and a few covers. My husband will undoubtedly use some disposables when he has alone time with baby, which won't be very often lol. He's not into scrubbing poop. But I'm into saving money in the long run and doing something good for my kids and the earth in general. I'm also planning on making some clothing for them. Not a lot, sweaters, dresses for my daughter, pj's, those types of things. I'm kind of afraid I might have set my own bar too high :/

Hi Casey!!! I am 36 weeks along and plan to cloth diaper :) My best friend has done it for all 3 of her kiddos.. she loves it! I am also lucky in that she has given me ALL her organic diapers, made her own covers.. etc.. she walked me through the whole process and I am pretty excited! She has had nothing but amazing things to say about it... no baby bottom issues, no blow outs, holds pee in so well, so much comfier.. the list goes on :)

You're so lucky to have someone that can help you! Once our income tax comes in, we plan to get all the necessaries for sewing them, and I might need some people to test for me.. that will be a while from now, but if anyone is willing, I would like feedback when it comes time. Also, having people waiting for diapers might make it harder for me to quit!
