Sex and personal time

We struggle with sex. My sex drive has decreased since having the baby and so between that and caring for the baby having sex is difficult. I think an additional part of that problem is personal time. I spend so much of my day at work or caring for the baby, I struggle to have time for just me.

My baby is 6 months old and is the most difficult baby I have ever encountered. I love him so much but by the end of the day the LAST thing I want it my husband to touch or even attempt to muster up any type of energy for sex! I know it is the first thing on his mind but after dealing with a screaming baby all day on top of being covered in spit-up sex is just not on the priority list. I keep thinking that something is wrong with me! After taking care of everyone else, I just don't have anything left to give!

I'm going to get personal and say. Foreplay is very important right now before having sex. You need to get your sex drive started and foreplay does that.My husband and I do that for about 30 minutes before getting in to the sex part. It can take your body a while to turn on after having a baby. And I always feel sexy when I look sexy. So buy some sexy lingerie. That is what I did. And I try to make time for sex just about every night. Just because your a mom doesn't mean your not sexy.

I know its hard to have personal time with your partner. My sex drive is way stronger then my husbands sex drive. But that doesn't stop us from making love almost every night. Even if you don't feel like having sex do it anyways . It will take your body some time to a just to it.The baby is sleeping by 8:00 every night. So I have time for my husband. I know I don't have personal time for me every often. But I think what my husband needs is really important. And I always feel so great after. When I'm with my husband all my stress goes bye bye. My husband has always been my safe place.

I had my first child in April 2013, just before our one year anniversary. Riley has been an absolute joy and I love every minute of being mom. But I am the first among my friends to have a child, so there isn't always an easy place to go for advice.
