The Power of Education

I think that as long as the parent is stepping in and educating your child at the preschool level, then going straight to Kindergarten would be fine. My daughter went to a private preschool, it was expensive but worth it to us. I was working outside the home at the time so I couldn't take time to educate her myself. Some preschools just let the kids play all day and they really don't learn all they could learn. You have to be selective when choosing your child's education. My son is going to preschool in the fall at a Montessori school that offers free education to those who live in 6 surrounding cities. They only allow in a limited number of children, but i'm excited about this program. It goes through 8th grade and I love the Montessori philosophy. My daughter went to a similar school and she is now in 1st grade at a Christian school and way more advanced than most kids in her class. I do spend time teaching my son at home and I believe that your child does need social skills, which you can also provide by being apart of play groups and things, but if you are taking time to use free resources online or buying materials, or making your own to educate your child, they may be getting more than a child who is in preschool just by you working with them one on one.

It is rough Stefany, I will buy little books from dollar store or go online and find resources. My son is 3 and never has been in daycare yet, but is way more advanced than my daughter was who went to an expensive private preschool. I think if you give your child the basics, they will be fine. When they test for Kindergarten admission they look for counting to 10, abc's, shape recognition, fine motor and gross motor skills, etc.
