I don't know if we whip something up with minimal items. Usually hubby goes out for whatever we may be missing for a certain dish. We are only a couple miles from the store and he only grumbles occasionally. lol!

If you have cocoa powder, sugar, eggs, butter and flour you can make a homemade chocolate pudding. It's in the Purity cookbook (one my mom used!) and I can always post it if you need/want it.

Dessert crepes: you can with honey, jem or fresh fruite

4 eggs, 1 1/3 cup of milk, 2 TBlspoon butter, melted, 1 cup flour, 2 tablespoon sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt.
      Directions

In large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, melted butter, flour sugar and salt until smooth.
Heat a medium-sized skillet or crepe pan over medium heat. Grease pan with a small amount of butter or oil applied with a brush or paper towel. Using a serving spoon or small ladle, spoon about 3 tablespoons crepe batter into hot pan, tilting the pan so that bottom surface is evenly coated. Cook over medium heat, 1 to 2 minutes on a side, or until golden brown. Serve immediately.

I have a bucket of cake mix for mug cake. I keep it on hand at all times. You mix one box of Angel food cake with one box of any other mix you would like. Keep it in a sealed bowl, and when you desire a sweet treat, mix two tablespoons of cake mix with a tablespoon of water. Microwave for a minute in a coffee cup, and volia, you have cake. I usually eye ball the water ratio, because I like a bigger slice of cake.

My children found a recipe like this but it wasn't made from cake mix, it was from scratch. I'll try to find that recipe too. Sorry Meg, I didn't see your response until today but I'll post both recipes for you in a few minutes.

          5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

          4 TBSP. flour
          4 TBSP. sugar
          2 TBSP. cocoa
          1 egg
          3 TBSP. milk
          3 TBSP. oil
          3 TBSP. chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug (the batter will overflow in smaller ones!)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well.
          Add egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise
over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

          Enjoy!

My daughter just reminded me to say to mix in the egg thoroughly or else you get pieces of cooked egg in the cake. So just beat it first and then mix it in the batter thoroughly. She's making this now.....

Chocolate Pudding - this can be used as a yummy chocolate sauce over ice cream or white cake too!

            Combine in sauce pan:

            1/3 cup cocoa
            1 cup sugar
            3 TBSP. all purpose flour

Gradually stir in 2 cups boiling water (whole milk has better results, especially fresh, raw milk straight from the cow, my daughter says! :)

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smoothly thickened.

Remove from heat and blend in

2 TBSP. butter or margarine (we prefer butter)
            1 tsp. vanilla

            Serve hot.

            Yields 2 1/2 cups

            Enjoy!
