Moms, what do you do when you're bored

To be honest? I rarely get bored and even if I say it half heartedly it's when I am procrastinating. I have too much to do and not enough time to do it most days. I love being busy and can tend to burn myself out. I have been working on establishing a better balance though. :)

That's a fun thing to do! I am trying to improve my photography. My oldest takes awesome photos and has only had one formal beginning photography class. What do you like to take photos of?

I love taking photos too. My husband has a running wager with me. If can capture 100 "Golden Moment" shots he will purchase me any accessory that I choose for my Canon Rebel T3i. I have been trying to fudge and have him take some, and maybe get me something sooner. Some of my captures are with my iphone. I have captured some really amazing shots with the iphone, I have found the iphone works the best outdoors.

Now for my Canon, that is a different story... to pull this out with 5 children running and playing takes much more focus and making sure my settings are right, and anything they may drinking, throwing, or... well you get the picture, I don't want it on my camera. :) I am a beginner and I have started a blog about tips and photos of what I have find works the best in the daily routine of life and taking photos.

I just bought a food photography book, on the recommendation from fellow bloggers, plus I've been following any of their discussions. I know the key to photography is having an eye for it and then knowing how to work your camera. My daughter is interested in doing portraits and weddings. That's a great opportunity your friend is giving you.

I know. That's me too. I went to the photography class with my daughter and we learned about manual and it scared me, plus it takes so long to take photos, so I totally get what Jane Kirksaid about setting up etc. with her five and I have eight. My daughter has taken more photos in manual than I have. I have taken a few in the last few weeks. I want to take a little time each day but I may have to settle for weekly for now.

Jane Kirkthat's a great challenge your husband gave you! I wish I had known more about the 365 day challenge or I would have started that on January 1, but maybe next year.

You can have an eye for it, which I don't seem to have, however my husband does, Every time I take photos I show him and let him critique them. His biggest help is "get close" or "zoom or move in". I have seen my photo dramatically change. Capturing the "moment" is difficult on a moving happy child or children. Also I think being trigger happy is a great way to capture one shot. Keep taking them and you will see what you don't like and what you do.

I agree. That's what we tend to do too. Take lots in hopes of one or two being great!

I love online shopping! Though I am taking our oldest to the mall on her birthday since they haven't been in a long time. Girls day out, here we come! :)

I am never really bored. When I was growing up, if my brother and I said we were bored, someone would make us go clean something. I am also working on more products for my online portfolio in Graphic Design. There is just too much to paint or clean. ;)

Danielle KeltnerThat's what we are trying to implement too. Though I think we slacked off with the younger ones because they say it a lot more than the girls did. So we are going back to assigning more work if they don't have anything to do. There's no reason they should be bored or even have time to be bored, in my opinion, because there's always something to do on a farm and in the home of a family of ten!

My mom always wanted a farm, after my brother (five years older than me) moved out, we moved to Kentucky and she got her dream farm with 70 boar goats. It was a huge transition when I was 15 years old, now that I am older, I see why she wanted the farm. My husband and I are renting a small house with room to put out a garden and have chickens soon.

That's really neat! We love the idea of knowing where our food comes from.

Bored!? What's that!? Lol. With a 13 month old, 3 yr old, a 6 yr old that goes to Kinder half a da and a dog, I'm constantly cleaning, organizing and by the time I'm done with lunch, it's almost time to start making dinner lol. When I do have a little time for me, I try to catch up on my shows or play with the kids.

Bored doesn't really seem to come into my vocabulary much with 5 munchkins, however "relaxation" came into mind. My relaxation is to enjoy a cup of tea with cookies with no one on my lap, watching a movie with my hubby, reading a blog, or sleeping. These are a few. Bored. Hmmm. Haven't been there for awhile. :)

I read, crotchet, or cross-stitch. When I have one of those out, the kids and hubby know to leave me alone lol

I am too busy to stay bored. But, when I have a moment to myself, I like to do brain puzzles like crosswords, sudoku, kakuro, etc. But, I am mostly cleaning, taking care of kids, the hubby, the dogs, and myself when I have time. I am always the last to go to bed.
