Snowed In

Omg I'm so beyond cabin fever. We are snowed in and have at least 8-9 inches of snow and a level 2 snow emergency :(. We cant even make it out of our subdivision to get to the store or anything. They've only been out here once in two days to plow and havn't put any salt on the roads because I dont think they have any left. We're out of milk, juice and pop. I HATE the snow and wish I could just get out to go to the store. Thinking about taking the kids out to play soon.I think I've only seen one truck in or out of here in two days because no one can make it out. BLAHHHH I'm hating this :(

Last night before the snow stopped my husband measured the total about in the yard at 11 inches. And for the doppler yesterday not showing snow or a slight chance of it the snow is now at a foot of snow. We are thinking in the past few days between melting and what not we have probably had about a foot and half of snow. I cant believe this craziness. I love being home with my son and husband but I'm starting to get bored. I have also lost the will to cook ... thankfully the chinese restaurant is crazy enough to still deliver, lol!

That stinks. We don't have that much snow here, thankfully, but it is soooo cold I dread taking the kids out. I've had cabin fever bad after a week of no school, so my husband drug me out for a little while yesterday. I think he was afraid of what might happen if I didn't get some fresh air and breathing room. I did make snow ice cream one day, and the kids loved it. Hope it gets better for you soon!

How do you make snow ice cream?

You collect the snow as it falls in a clean bowl. We need about 12 cups of snow. Then you mix 2 tbsp vanilla, 1 cup of sugar, and about a cup and a half of milk. You can use less milk, just kind of add it as you stir it. It isn't a thick ice cream, like from the store, but it is really good and the kids love it. It melts quickly, though.
