Can you over feed a newborn?
My one month old regularly eats around 6 OZ. and will eat up to 8OZ at times. Our pediatrician told us we need to stop her after 3 OZ. but I don't feel right letting her cry when she's hungry. She has breast milk and formula.
I don't formula feed BUT I was told once that my girl could use me as a pacifier. Basically she was done eating but still really wants to suck so she keeps going. Maybe that's what's happening to your daughter? It's like her "I need to suck" instinct is overpowering her "I'm full" signal . Have you tried giving her a pacifier after 3-4oz to see if that makes her feel better?
that does sound like quite a lot for a 1 month old. My 10 month old does 6 oz and only started doing 4oz around 6 months and 6 oz around 8
