Potty Training a boy

Question for all the moms out there. I have a two year old son and he's still not potty trained. I don't want to force him or push him too much for the fear of making him more discouraged. I've heard many different techniques on the best way and I was curious on what other mothers of little boys did. Because I would love to take a break on buying diapers :)

I'm not worried its the fact that my sons father is on my case for it and making me feel guilty that he isn't potty trained and saying things along the line of other peoples' babies are younger and potty trained and it makes me mad that he'd say those things, and basically saying he's disappointed in his son. I was just seeing what people had to offer for feed back and I think I 'm going to help motivate him but let him do it when he feels it's right

I am a 20 year old mom with a two year old little boy who means the world to me. Even though I am no longer with his father I have found someone who has a daughter and is great with my son.
