When will your water break in labor

Your water can break anytime during labor. In fact in can break before labor or not even break at all. It is rare but sometimes a baby can actually be born in the bag of waters.

Some woman's water will not break on it's own so your doctor will do it. The procedure to break your water is usually simple and painless. After your water is broken your labor will usually speed up and the pain of the contractions may increase.

You can be in active labor and still have an intact bag of water.
