Moms, how do you balance work and children

I have always struggled with this one, even though I work at home. There's always something to do in our businesses. I have to make myself stop working.

At the request of my family, I started taking weekends completely off from working, this has helped. So has planning family activities and keeping things we have scheduled.

I think it's important to set your hours and keep them when you work from home. I am going to get my office cleaned out...again....so I can actually leave work in there once I shut the door.

And you should enjoy your time with your daughter! :) If you don't have to work, enjoy it! They grow up way too fast not to.

I can see how that would be difficult. It's hard when we have to work to make ends meet.

I agree.. it's the hardest thing when you work from home or do something that can be done from home... Like right now, I'm at the kitchen table with my kids doing their homework and I'm working on the side...

But you're right.. most nights I turn my phone off and focus on them.. I set a schedule within my own home.. sometimes I follow it... lol

I find myself making excuses because my husband is home he can cover things and while that's true for most things, they do still want their mama too.

I really can't comment on this one since I was terrible at it. I was in management, which translated into dealing with everything. I missed too much with my kids, and am so glad to be getting this time with them now. I'd like to find something I could do from home, but I don't think my littlest ones would cooperate.

Being a teacher I find it very hard to leave work at work.... there is always something to do. My husband has started allowing me to go in a little early and stay an hour late so that I am able to extend my hours a little bit. But when I am home I give full attention to my son until he goes to bed.

Before I had mine I was always taking extra shifts, staying over up to five hours to cover until someone could be called in. I was going to work anytime my boss called and said they needed help, but now I'm saying no the majority of the time and watching the clock to get off work in time. It's really hard to say no to extra hours being a single mom supporting not only my child but two younger cousins whose mother doesn't. But I know in the long run I'd rather remember the days I see them smiling rather than the customers I help at work.
